REPORT FROM DON
On April 4th, four 61ers met in Sarasota Florida to challenge the Oaks Club Heron Golf course. What we lacked in quantity, we made up in quality.

  • Rob Walker, by far the best golfer in the group, did not miss a fairway!

  • Dick Edmunds did not 3 putt a single green!

  • And Scott McWhinnie and Don Swan, whose combined handicaps almost equal their age, did not lose a single golf ball!

Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to play!

However, Rob and Don have decided to start up a business. If you are suffering a drought, let them schedule a golf outing in your town. It's worked twice so far this year.

After the non-golf event, we gathered with our wives at the McWhinnies' lovely penthouse condo for good food, drink, and conversation, followed by more of the same at dinner at the Pineapples Restaurant. Next year the sun will shine!

Dear Classmates,
 

Considering a southern trip this winter? How about joining us near Sarasota for our annual 1961 golf outing, and then dinner at a casual restaurant on the water?

 

Just mark your calendars for Thursday, April 4, 2013.  We always have a great time, high and low handicappers alike.

 

We'll gather about 11:30 a.m. for lunch in the Grille Room at the Oaks Club in Osprey, FL. After lunch we'll tee off at about 1 P.M. on the Oaks premier Eagle Course. Ladies are welcome to play together on the Oaks' other course.

 

Following golf we'll have dinner around 6:30 p.m. at the nearby Casey Key Fish House. The tab for greens fee, cart and lunch will be $130, payable to Don Swan by check or cash at the club.  Rental clubs are available for $20.
