Reunion housing info

The University recently advised us that they will no longer offer Lyft vouchers for rides between campus and several off-campus hotels.  Also, they are raising the prices for beds in Forbes College and the Theological Seminary.  So, we have updated our guidance on reunion housing.  Here’s the latest – with new information underlined.

If you’re planning to stay off-campus, make reservations as soon as possible.

If you’re hoping to stay in a dorm on campus or at the Theological Seminary, we have been allocated 40 beds in Forbes College, and 6 at the Theological Seminary.  Usually there is excess demand for dorm accommodations, which are very reasonably priced, so we give priority to classmates and spouses with mobility issues and classmates who need to be on site for supervisory duties. We will hold a lottery in February if demand exceeds the remaining supply of beds at Forbes and the Seminary.

Off-campus – Hotels
We have blocked rooms at the following hotels: Doubletree Hilton and Marriott Forestal require a three night minimum stay, (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and are served by University shuttle buses (Reunions Tiger Transit) between the hotels and campus. Springhill Suites Ewing (a Marriott hotel) requires just a two night minimum stay, (Friday and Saturday) but will accommodate longer stays at lower rates for Thursday and Sunday. . Springhill and Residence Inn are not on the University bus route.   It’s about a 15-minute drive from Forbes College (reunion HQ) to the Springhill.  The Residence Inn Cranbury - South Brunswick, has no minimum stay requirement.

Other off-campus hotels -
There are many other hotels near Princeton that have rooms available, both with and without minimum stay requirements.  Several do not offer room blocks.  They include -

Crowne Plaza Princeton, 900 Scudders Mill Road, Plainsboro, NJ, 1 877 227 6963 $498 per night, (served by reunions shuttle bus service);
Holiday Inn Express, 399 Monmouth Street, East Windsor, NJ, 888 465 4329, $222 per night;
Quality Inn, 3270 Route 1, Lawrenceville, NJ  609-896-3700, $250 - $275 per night, (not served by reunions shuttle bus service.)

The hotel shuttle bus route for 2025 is here:

Off Campus – Vrbo and Air BnB
Another option for off-campus housing is room rentals in private homes. A listing of accommodations for one or two persons, or groups, can be found on their websites. At this writing, in September, there are listings in the area a short drive from Princeton. Time is of the essence!

On-campus – Dormitories
Forbes beds, including linens, are $255 for the full reunion, in rooms with baths or showers.  Seminary beds, including linens, are $325 for the full reunion, and they share hall baths. It should be noted that the Seminary does not have elevators, only stairs.  You can request these beds using the Registration Form when available, probably in November, 2025.  Since the supply of dorm beds is limited, we ask that beds be requested only for Classmates and spouses or partners (a limit of two beds per Classmate.)  The University Housing Office makes the bed and room assignments, but we can request preference for classmates with mobility or other impairing conditions, and for those with a need to be situated near headquarters in Forbes.

Forbes rooms are located on three floors, all served by elevators. Sheets and pillows are provided. It is advisable to bring a light blanket with you. They are basic dorm rooms, pictured here.
