Morning and afternoon at leisure.
San Diego and its environs offer a wide range of world-class attractions that
can enhance the enjoyment of the mini-reunion. Highlights include San Diego’s world-class zoo and the Scripps
Aquarium, or, if young ones are nearby, Sea World, Legoland, and the Wild Animal Park. The Zoo and the Aquarium are within
a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Details about these and other attractions can be found at
http://www.sandiego.com/attractions
and other information-filled San Diego websites.
For lunch, there is La Jolla, a 10 minute drive from the
hotel, or Del Mar, approximately 15 minutes North. La Jolla is best known
for its art shops, scenic walks, and restaurants. Georges (on the roof for
lunch), Alphonso's for Mex, The Crab Catcher, and La Valencia Hotel are all
good. Del Mar is a bit more of a funky beach town, and Jake's is a terrific
place for lunch adjacent to the beach. Excellent restaurants are also available
next to the hotel.
Golf and tennis are available at Del Mar Country Club
for those having interest. Susan and Jim Blair can make the
arrangements.
Cocktails and Dinner will be held at the Del Mar Country
Club at 6:30 PM. We will be outside, so a sweater or jacket is
suggested. The Del Mar Country Club is approximately 20 minutes north of
the hotel.
After dinner at leisure. The hard core may be inclined to
hit the Gas Lamp district in downtown San Diego for a nightcap or two, but it
does entail a 30 minute drive to the city.-, and a 15 minute drive back North to
the hotel.

11:00 AM Pre Game Tailgate on the USD Campus The
Campus is approximately 15 minutes South of the hotel. All attendees will be
signed up for this event, and game tickets provided as well. Several years
ago, Shirley Tilghman described this as the best tailgating event ever, and
wondered why Princeton couldn’t do it. When she was reminded of the
predictability of San Diego weather, she understood.
1:00-4:00pm Princeton vs USD Football This will be
Princeton’s first game of the year. The returning Ivy League Champions enter
the game evenly rated with USD, so this promises to be an exciting
game.
7:00 PM Cocktails and Dinner at a Rancho Santa Fe
location (to be determined based on the number of mini-reunion attendees).
The location will again be approximately 20 minutes North of the
hotel.

No events planned, but some may wish to try the world class
brunch at the famous Hotel Del Coronado. The "Hotel Del " is about a 30 minute
drive from the hotel on a Sunday morning, and reservations for non-hotel guests
must be made a week or two in advance.
Costs
Estimated that our formal events (meals, drinks, tailgate, etc.) Friday and Saturday, including
the game, will cost about $300-350 per couple.
