*Speaker: W. Robert "Rob" Warne ’60 President from 1990 to 2000 of the Korea Economic Institute of
America, a Washington-based think tank, and currently on contract as Chair of Korean Area Studies at the Foreign Service
Institute of the U.S. Department of State, Rob served for 28 years as a Senior Foreign Service Officer with the U.S.
Department of State. Specializing in international economics, he has held a variety of senior posts at the Department and
abroad, including Director of Caribbean Affairs and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy at Kingston. He was
Officer-in-charge of trade, finance, and development policy of the U.S. Mission to the European Union at Brussels,
and Counselor for Economic, Trade, Agriculture, Energy, and Labor Affairs at the Organization of Economic Cooperation and
Development at Paris. In that capacity, he was elected to be the Chairman of the OECD Trade Committee Working Party
to prepare the member countries for the Uruguay Round trade negotiations.
